LauraBelle Chatman
JEROME—LauraBelle Chatman, 78, of Sterling Road, Jerome, died Sunday (March 16, 1997) in the Bay Area Medical Center, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mrs. Chatman was born March 30, 1918, in Haviland, Ohio, to Harry and Hazel (Sunday) Leeth. She was a homemaker and lived in Jerome for many years. She also had lived in North Adams and Deming, N.M.
She married Simon Chatman, Jan. 24, 1933 and he preceded her in death April 18, 1993.
Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Francis Dwyer, Linda Daniels, and Martha and Vincent Webb, all of North Adams, Shirley Inhulsen, Blissfield and Mary and Raymond Harmon, Deming, N.M.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald of Jerome and Larry Diane of Jonesville; 34 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild' one sister, Dorothy Fegley, Jerome; and two brothers, Joe and Sylvan Leeth, both of Jackson. She was also preceded in death by one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral 2 p.m. Friday at the Kurtz-Towns Funeral Home, North Adams, with the Rev. Paul Pickell officiating. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jerome Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice.
