    OBITUARY
    Death of Gar Leeth.
    ...An unexpected death occurred at an early hour this morning when Gar Leeth, son of Mrs. Leeth, who resides on east Jackson street passed away after only a brief illness. Deceased was aged about 40 years. He was a telegraph operator by occupation.

    Gar Leeth, accompanied by his mother-in-law Mrs. Fogel, left for Center Point, Texas, Saturday night where they were called on account of the serious illlness of Mrs. Leeth.
    D. D. Leeth has accepted a position as operator at the Nickel Plate depot, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Gar Leeth.

    Obituary:

    The funeral of Garfield Leeth, who died last Thursday morning at the home of his mother, Mrs. D. Leeth of Paulding, was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Christian church in Paulding and interment was made in Live Oak cemetery.
    Deceased was 35 years of age and leaves to mourn a devoted wife and two children--a son and daughter, his mother, two brothers, D. D. Leeth of Payne and Earl Leeth of Ft. Wayne, three sisters, Mrs. Edward Carter of Bellevue, Mich, Mrs. Irma Harris of Paulding, O., Mrs. Wm. Connor of Kansas City, Kansas.
    The following relatives and friends from Payne and vicinity attended the funeral: D. D. Leeth and family, M. M. Leeth and family, C. B. Craig, A. L. Mathias and family, Edward Wahl and wife, Mrs. Stetler, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. James Heaston, Amil Malcult and family and Jacob Wahl.

    James married Martha Jane Fogle on 6 Nov 1900 in Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan, United States. Martha was born on 20 Jun 1881 in Centersville Township, Noble County, Ohio, United States; died in 1961 in Ohio, United States; was buried in 1961 in Payne, Paulding County, Ohio, United States.
