Maria Mary Harvey was a daughter of William and Mary (Crews) Harvey. By the time of her marriage in 1847, her family were members of Bloomfield Friends Meeting in Indiana. Maria was dealt with by the meeting, acknowledged her misconduct (marrying out of meeting), and then transferred her membership to Springfield Friends Meeting, Clinton County, OH. In 1859, Maria, husband Carter and daughter Mary Elizabeth moved their membership to Miami Friends Meeting, where they remained members until 1882 when they returned to Springfield. She and her husband had only one child, a daughter Mary Elizabeth.
