Notes |
John Lee was living with his father on the plantation, "Point Pleasant" when he married Isabel, the daughter of their neighbor. The marriage was performed by Esquire James Bell. also a neighbor living on adjacent land. They set up housekeeping on rented land from his father and continued to live there for seven years. William Hays Lee, the first son was born January 16, 1793. In 1789 on the 7th day of April, John writes that he moved the family from the plantation to the Monongahela River, took water down to the Ohio River, down the Ohio to the mouth of the Little Ohio, where he bought land that was located in what became Warren Co, Turtle Creek Twp. Nine more children were born and raised on this farm.
