OBITUARY
Harry G. Hormell, 69 years old, former member of hte State Legislature and at one time a resident of Connellsville, died suddenly Wednesday morning at his home at Somerset. Mr. Hormell was born and reared at South Brownsville, a son of the late Harrison and Minerva Smith Hormell. He served as Mayor at South Brownsville and as Fayette county representative in the State Legislatrue for two terms.
Mr. Hormell was married to Miss Belva Powell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs George Powell of Connellsville. Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Louise Mason of Brownsville. He was a member of the South Brownsville Methodist Church and had resided at Somerset for about ten years.
The funeral service was held this afternoon at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Somerset, with the Rev. W.L. Crawford officiating.
Burial was in Hill Grove Cemetery, Connellsville, the funeral party arriving here at 3:30 p.m. [The Daily Courier, Connellsville, Fayette, PA, 2 January 1942; page two, [a Friday paper which referred to death on Wednesday.]
