In 1694 Amos travelled with John Banks, and in 1716 was a petitioner for justice to be done to Quakers in Dublin. Also in 1716 Thomas Story lodged in Dublin with Amos. Amos Strettell lost his capital, and was helped by Friends to the extent of 1,000.
Amos Strettel made a purchase of 5,000 acres of land in Pennsylvania, but there is no evidence to show thaat he ever came to this country; he also held large tracts of land in New Jersey. In 1688, he and John Burnyeat published a small book called "The Innocency of the Christian Quakers Manifested,: etc. (Immigration of Irish Quakers into Pennsylvania 1682-1750 by Albert Cook Myers, M. L., Swarthmore, Pennsylvania 1902, pg 264

Amos Strettell son of Hugh and Mary Strettell of Saltersley in Mobberly in Cheshire in England was born the 24th day of ye 12th mo called ffebruary in the year 1657 entered in ffrds register book of Morley meeting Cheshire.
Hee came to Ireland in the 1 mo called March 1678/9 he took to wife Experience Cappage daughter of Major Robert Cappage and Elizabeth his wife in a meeting house of the people called Quakers at Lambstone in the county of Wexford the 23d of the 1 mo called March 1692/3.
