JAMES ALEXANDER BECK, the second son of Hugh Beck of Loughbrickland and Armagh, was born at Drumnahaire in 1824. He also settled in Belfast in 1854, and subsequently was founder and proprietor of Belfast Chemical Works. In 1859 he purchased Everton House and Estate from the Marquis of Donegal, and died there on 1 March 1897, being buried in Belfast City Cemetery. His will, dated 3 rf November 1895, was proved at Belfast Probate Registry on 21 st April 1897, and included several charitable bequests. By his first wife, Mary, fourth daughter of Ralph Bullick of Mountain View House, Portadown, whom he married at Belfast Parish Church on 18 th December 1856, he had issue :-
