- The Adams Co. Horse Thief.
Our Belfast correspondent, "Frank,: writes us that J. B. Davis, who was arrested here recently for stealing Mr. Hamilton Florea's mare, was examined before Esq. Guthri, of May Hill, who held him to bail in the sum of $800, in default of which he was committed to the Adams county jail.
The West Union Defender says that Davis is a relative of Florea, and adds: "He forged a note on David Fulton, which he sold to Dr. Noble about one year ago, and also drew $1,000 out of a bank in Illinois on a forged order, for which he was obliged to leave that State. His relatives who are very respectable people, have heretofore inferfered to save him from the clutches of the law."
