GRAVESTONE: Gravestone inscription in Mt. Olivet Cemetery reads that she died at the age of 94 years, 1 month, and 27 days on February 23, 1889. She is buried with her son, Charles Hedrick Sowers, and his family. Its possible that the last name was spelled as "Souers" or as "Sours" amongst members of the family.
Gravestone was again located and photographed on May 31, 2009, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville, Rockingham County, Virginia. Gravestone inscription reads:

m. 21 Apr. 1820 Jacob Sour (Sowers). Anna Mary and Jacob were married by the Rev. Johannes Braun (John Brown) and are not listed in bonds. They were probably married, therefore, by banns.
