Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Leeth Celebrate Golden Wedding
Only a few people live to observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary but such was the good fortune of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Leeth of North Main street.
The day (Sunday, Oct. 13) was an ideal one and the celebration which had been so splendidly arranged by their children was perfect to the last detail. Their children, the grandchildren and one great-grandchild were present.
Other dinner guests were Mr. Leeth's sister, Mrs. Mell Faucett and son, Don, of Walnut Grove, Elizabeth Ballinger of West Mansfield, O., Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Underwood Bellefontaine, O., Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hardesty of Paulding, Dr. K. C. Hardesty and family of Fort Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leeth and children and Mrs. Lucy Underwood of Payne, Mrs. Ella Underwood of Fort Wayne.
The home was beautifully decorated with flowers which were presented by loyal friends.
In a very fitting presentation speech Emmett Leeth presented his parents with a floor lamp that represented the love and esteem of the children and their desire for a bright and happy future for their parents. Other valuable gifts were received.
The community showed their esteem and respect by calling during the afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Leeth have spent most of their life in and around Payne. They saw the county grow from a wooded unimproved country to one of the finest counties in the state. Mr. Leeth carried mail out of Payne for about thirty years.
They have raised all their children to maturity and have never had the sorrow of death enter their home. They have been abundantly blessed in many respects and the entire community joins in wishing them many more happy and pleasant years.
