    Francis Maynard Harlan, genial assistant cashier and director of The Citizens National Bank, was born near Wilmington, October 7, 1878. He is the son of William H. and Ann Harlan, members of the Friends Church. Mr. Harlan received his early education in the district school of his neighborhood, but entered Wilmington High School for his secondary instruction. he graduated there with the class of 1898. He is a member of the Wilmington Friends Church, Wilmington B. P. O. Elks and Snow Hill Country Club. Maynard Harlan entered the Citizens Bank at the age of 30, as a teller, later becoming assistant cashier. He is now starting on his 21st year of this connection. He is the treasurer of the Clinton County, Agricultural Society, which conducts the Wilmington Fair, and his services to that organization have been extremely important. F. M. Harlan was united in marriage to Edith M. Peters, in 1902. She is the daughter of E. K. and Eva M. Peters, of Wilmington. They have one daughter, Maxine, a student in the public schools.     Nathan Harlan and William Harlan were brothers, and sons of Enoch Harlan, of Guilford County, N. C. They came to Ohio in 1805, and settled about one mile from Springfield--Nathan on land since known as the Joseph Coate farm, and William on land now owned by Harrison Mullen and Milo Hale.
