David Ernest Eberly was one of five children, born to Sophia Charlotte Storer Eberly and William Henry Eberly. He was born August 19, 1898 near Republic and died July 31, 1974 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 12 days.
He was united in marriage to Alma Elizabeth Florea on August 6, 1942 at Concordia, Kansas. Three children came to bless this union.
Mr. Eberly was born on the Eberly farm north of Republic and continued to make his home there for 61 years. He and his family moved into Republic in November of 1959, where he made his home until his death.
After moving to Republic he continued to do the farm work on farms in the vicinity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one grandson.
He is survived by his wife, one son, George of Aurora, Nebr., two daughters, Arlene Olson of Beatrice, Nebr. and Nadine A. Eberly of Minneapolis, Kansas, three grandchildren, Brett Olson, Joyann and Geroge W. Eberly, one brother Herbert T. Eberly, Grand Island, Nebr.
Funeral services were held Saturday August 3, from the United Methodist church, Republic, Kansas , with the Reverend Loren Silsby officiating. Burial was in the Lake Cemetery, Republic. (Reference: Find A Grave Memorial# 108189265)
David married Alma Elizabeth Florea on 6 Aug 1942 in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas, United States. Alma (daughter of Chester Irvin Florea and Nellie May Smith) was born on 20 Dec 1917 in Republic County, Kansas, United States; died in Jul 1980 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, United States; was buried on 2 Aug 1980 in Republic, Republic County, Kansas, United States.
