Mrs. Malvena Bates Mitchell, 62, formerly of West Alexandria and Dayton, died May 6 in Columbus.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Shepard of Columbus and Linda Fast of Covington; two sons, David Story of Florida and Mark Heller of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Thompson of Arcanum; two brothers, Larry Ballard of Gainesville, Fla., and James Bates of McDonough, Ga.
Her mother, Mamie Ballard, died in March.
Graveside services ere May 12, at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. There was no public calling. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.
