    Notes:

In a letter to Karen Mackey, dated June 3, 1997, Jeff Cady remembers some things about "Mama Ni".
..."I know that Jeannie, Linda, and possibly Joey can remember visiting Grandma Cady but I'm not sure about Alyce. In the letter that I had planned to write I wanted to tell them the things about Grandma Cady that I remember. Such as her small but quaint apartment filled with her rooster collection. The candy dish with the pink lozenges. How she would stay up late to catch the Carson Show. And who can forget her candle shop. When I was younger she would always give me a small strawberry scented candle. Any time I smell spearmint or coffee it brings back fond memories. Before I would stop in at Dad's office, I would go upstairs first and get a cup of coffee for Dad and as I walked along the building you could smell the spearmint growing along the side of it. She would always have a daily planner calendar next to her phone and she would write in it who had visited her that day.
...I used to "have" to take Grandma and Aunt Garnet to Frames grocery store once a week. Being a typical teenager at the time I really didn't want to do it. But after the third or fourth time I looked forward to taking them. I would give almost anything to be able to still be doing it now. I was also her "handyman". I used to mow her lawn (a 10 minute job) and fix just about anything that was broke." (Information provided by Karen Mackey)
