    Obituary:

    Former Payne Resident a Suicide
Mrs. Laura Stetler Leeth, 46, a former Payne resident, committed suicide last Friday in the basement of her home in Detroit by hanging.
Mrs. Leeth and her husband had been separated since last February. Last Wednesday, Mr. Leeth called on his wife for a reconciliation, but his efforts proved futile.
Thursday evening Mrs. Leeth told her daughter, Miss Mary Jane, who resided with her, not to awaken her the following morning before she left for school, and also advised her to go to the home of another daughter, Mrs. Virginia McNie, after school and remain for supper Mrs. Leeth also was to be at the McNie home for supper. As Mrs. Leeth failed to appear at the McNie home, the daughters became alarmed, and with Mr. McNie, drove to the Leeth home. They searched the house and finally went to the basement where they found her hanging from a rope.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Detroit, after which the body was brought here and laid to rest in the Wiltsie cemetery, east of Payne.
Surviving are the husband, Emmett Leeth and three daughters, Mrs. Virginia McNie, Mrs. Leah Knisley and Mis Mary Jane, and one granddaughter, Judith Ann McNie, all of Detroit.

Laura married Emmett Orland Leeth on 24 Sep 1913 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan, United States.
