    OBITUARY
God is love: his mercy brightens
All he path in which he rove:
Bliss he wakes and woes he lightens:
God is wisdom, God is love.

Chance and change are busy ever:
    Man decays, and ages move:
    But His mercy waneth never
God is wisdom, God is love.

...Freelove Elizabeth Walls, daughter of Elijah and Harriett Willis was born in Pee Pee township, Pike County, Ohio, on April 3rd in the year of 1879. She departed this life August 26, 1952 at the age of 73 years, four months and twenty-three days. Her death was brought about through an accidental fall from a ladder as she was attempting to pick peaches.
...In the year of 1903 in the month of July, she was united in marriage to Grandville Walls. He was the son of pioneer parents who came to Pike County early in its history from the states of Delaware and New Hampshire. To this union there were born the following surviving children:
...Herby L. Walls, Columbus, Ohio; Virginia Snyder, Washington, C. H., Ohio; Patricia Ann Custer, Washington, C. H., Ohio; Evelyn L. Brooks, Columbus, Ohio; Mary E. Barber, of Chillicothe, Ohio. One child, Clarence L. Walls died in infancy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
...Into this great adventure called life -Lizzie, as she was commonly known, brought a rich endowment of courage, industry, and wisdom. To friends and neighbors in sickness or distress she was a devoted servant, ever ready to meet the call of the hour, day or night. She has wrought well in the vineyard of life, striving through the years with her helpmate to bring forth from the stubborn soil the substance of life.
...She was deeply devoted to her husband and her children; ever ready to make such sacrifices as only a wife and mother can and will make. Today they gather around her bier with contrite hearts and broken emotions at her passing. The years will soften their grief, but the memory of her will never fade. As her star goes down beneath the horizon of the living, can we not say in the beautiful lines of the poet:

There is no death! The stars go down
To rise upon some other shore.
And bright in Heaven's jewelled crown
    They shine for ever more.

There are no dead! They have but passed
Beyond the mists that blind us here
Into the new and larger life
    Of the serener sphere.

And ever near us, though unseen
    The dear immortal spirits tread
    For all the boundless universe
    Is life--there are no dead.
