Elizabeth (Berry) Harlan, wife of Nathaniel Carter Harlan, died 2d mo., 1866, aged about ninety years.

March 30, 1866, Died, in morning of March 21, 1866, Mrs. Elizabeth S. W. Harlen at the residence of her son-in law, J. W. Strickle. Age 85 years 3 months. Born in King George County, Virginia, in 1780. At age 7 years old, moved to Mason County, Kentucky, and married Nathaniel C. Harlen in 1800. A native of North Carolina, who died of yellow fever in 1824. 11 children, which 5 have died before her. Moved to Clinton County, Ohio in 1826. Episcopalian.

In 1687, George Harlan and hia family and his brother Michael emigrated to America, and settled near Christian Hundred, on the Delaware River, in the present State of Delaware, and in the “verge” of Center Monthly Meeting of Friends. They some few years after crossed the Delaware and settled in Chester County, Penn.
