They came from many lands and spoke many languages.
They traveled with family and friends, to a wilderness, where wildlife and
streams were plentiful, timber abundant, and the plains fertile. They
cleared the land, planted crops and built a home. They survived the floods,
the droughts, the diseases and the wars. They organized towns and established
laws, married their neighbors and raised a family. The wilderness was Ohio.
. . . They were the Ancestors. |

Welcome to our Tangled Roots
|
|
And tangled roots they are! I am still trying to untangle them. A little bit about us - the rocking chairs
will have to wait a while longer, we are not ready for them yet. Like our ancestors,
we like to go exploring and we especially enjoy traveling around the country in a
motor home until we find a spot to explore further. Then we jump in the Jeep and head
for the back roads in search of intriguing scenery, historic sites, museums, National Parks,
State Parks, ruins and most anything else that captures our interest. As we travel
around the country we have learned to appreciate some of the hardships that our ancestors
had to overcome. Life is much easier when you have the convenience of paved roads, air
conditioners, motor homes and roadside assistance. We may even learn a little history or
discover an ancestor or two. Besides traveling we enjoy hiking, four-wheeling, reading, computers
and... genealogy. I also like to dabble in landscape painting, computer graphics and digital art. |

We inherited several
Mystery Photos with little to no identifying information about the people
in the photos. I would like to be able to give a name and family to
our mystery photos, maybe you can help.
The links on the menu bar include all the roots, branches and twigs of the
Beck Family
and the Hormell Family, along with
a surname index, obituaries, short biographies,
and Cemetery Pictures.
Explore our tangled roots, you may find a connection to our family.
We are glad you stopped by for a visit and hope you come back often... you
never know when something might change!
