Jacob Gates to Christian Gates 17 Sep 1814
...At the request of Christian Gates the following Bill Sale is recorded the 17th day of September 1813. Know all men by these presents that Jacob Gates of Frederick County and the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, current money to me in hand paid by Christian Gates of the county and state aforesaid, at and before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Christian Gaits his executors, administrators and afsigns one sorrel mare five years old, one ditto seven years old, one red and white cow, one buflow cow red and white, one brindle heifer, one black and white ditto, two yearling calves, three feather beds and furniture, one tin plate stove, one poplar chest, two walnut tables, four winsor chairs one large Iron Kettle, two pare of horse gears, one old waggon, one bar shear plow, one shovel ditto, three hogs and all the Kitchen furniture, six hundred chestnut rails, all which property is now in my pofsefsion, to have and to hold, the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Christian Gates his executors, administrators and afsigns forever, to his and their only proper use and benefit, and I the said Jacob Gates for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Christian Gates his executors, administrators and afsigns the said described property against me my executors & administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the fifteenth day of September eighteen hundred and fourteen.

...At the request of John L Harding & Jno McPherson Jr the following sale is recorded April 12th 1826 viz
Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Geatz of Frederick County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by John L Harding and John McPherson Jur, of the County and State aforesaid at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Jacob Geatz hath granted bargined sold and by these presents doth grant bargin and sell unto the said John L Harding and John McPherson Jur, their executors administrators & afsigns two beds and bedding, three bedsteads, five chairs, four tables, one mahagany bureau and Kitchen Cupboard, or bureau, Carpeting, pots, Kittles, pans, Knives and forks, one Cart, one gig & harnefs, tin ware, one chest, working tools and the usiders of his house lot, And Kitchen furniture. To have and To Hold the same and every part and parcel thereof unto the said John L Harding and John McPherson their excutors administrators and afsigns forever, In Witness whereof the said Jacob Geatz hath herein Subscribed his name and affixed his seal this 10th day of April 1826

...At the rquest of John L Harding & Jno McPherson the following bill of sale is recorded, April 4th 1827. Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Geatz for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars, current money, to me in hand paid by John L Harding and John McPherson Jr of Frederick County in the State of Maryland, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said John L Harding and John McPherson Jr, their executors administrators or afsigns, one sett of gilt windsor chairs, and one tin plate stove & pipe - to have and To Hold the same unto the said John L Harding and John McPherson Jr. their executors, administrators and afsigns forever. In Witnefs whereof the Said Jacob Geaty hath hereunto subscribes his name, and affixes his seal the 3rd of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven.
