Opal Massie Hafer, 97, of Chillicothe, died 6:10 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at her residence. She was born January 17, 1910, in Pike County, to the late Roscoe and Flossie Massie. On November 27, 1929, she married Lee R. Hafer, who died September 11, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (Walter) Ott, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, David (Susan) Ott, Timothy Ott, Michael Hafer, Lance Hafer and Wesley (Amy) Hafer; great-grandchildren, Jessica Ott, Tyler, Nicholas, Nathan, and Destiny Hafer; a sister, Ethel French, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Wilbur "Pee Wee" Hafer; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services were entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio.
