OBITUARY—
Jackson Colvin, an aged and highly respected resident of South Pike County, died at his home in Nebo, Monday. He was born September 13, 1837, and was aged 87 years and 10 months. Colvin was married to Rebecca J. Faris, July 17, 1859, and they would have celebrated the 66th anniversay of their wedding next Friday. They had four children, two daughters and a son. One son-the first born, died in infancy, and another son died May 16, 1906. Surviving are the wife and two daughters, Mrs. Emily Chapman of Denver and Mrs. Vinnie Grimes of Pittsfield. There are eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A brother, G. W. Colvin, lives at Time. Colvin had been a member of the Christian Church for seventy years. He served three years with Company E 99th Illinois Volunteers during the Civil War. His old comrade, W. C. Dickson, of Pittsfield, which was held here Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. H. Hill pastor of the Pittsfield Congregational Church, officiated. Interment was in the hunter Cemetery.
